Summer Hangouts

Thursday, June 28, 2018

Summer is well and truly here, no longer are we consciously keeping an umbrella in our bag just in case of a typical British summer storm. This year we are actually having a summer! With weather so beautiful its the perfect time to get your feet up in the green and enjoy the peace whilst sipping an ice cold cider. Here are some ideas for you to replicate this summer to make your ideal hangout for summer chills.

CONTEMPORARY & CALM

If you're a lover of more simplistic design and someone who prefers more classic looks then you cant go wrong by installing decking in your garden space. Not only does it keep your garden furniture level, but also splits areas off form the rest of the garden to create zones. Picturesque hanging chairs, solar powered lighting and easy care plants like palms can transport you to a tropical beach club when in fact you're just in the back garden. A neutral colour palette is essential to keep within a peaceful no fuss feel; white long flowing drapes are particularly good at achieving a calm and restful space as you can watch them flow with the summer breeze. Keep to natural materials such as concrete, woods and rattan for an earthen feel. Structured sofas and chairs are the key pieces to making your outside living space a contemporary calm.

BOHO & FUN
Colour, colour and more colour. That’s all you need to know really to master this style. With boho there’s really no limit as to how much colour or pattern you’re going for as this makes it all the ore fun. It’s a celebration of the Moroccan architecture and lifestyle bursting full of bright vibrant colour so take it to the max. Seating for large groups of friends and family is very important to master the bohemian, do using this look for an eating area would be a great focal point for your garden. Corner sofas, poufs and lots and lots of floor cushions make the space friendly and cosy to entertain all your guests. Hanging lights, ribbons, coloured bunting and dream catchers all make for a busy and exciting place to sit and chill or host a party.
Further decor can be replicated through tasseled cushions, embroidered details and Moroccan candles

HYGGE & COSY
Quality time with the girls or cuddles with your other Half, Hygge is a lovely way to bring your loved ones together for comfy chills and snuggles. From the Scandinavian winter trend, higgle can also last all year around by attempting certain key factors of the trend to fit into the warmer weather. For the cosy factor serval essentials are needed. Pile up the thick knitted blankets to keep yourself warm whilst chilling or watching a film outside by making your own outdoor cinema (very higgle!!). Lighting is crustal for when the sun is slowly going down and the day turns into night, so hanging solar powered lights from trees, dotting fairy lights wherever your can and having dimly lit candles in different sized candle holders all works together for a beautiful looking space you can sit and enjoy all night long. Furniture tends to be contemporary such as the outside circular pods and chairs which several people can relax on as well as a trendy hanging chair complete with a blanket of course.
