Scandinavian style doesn't have to be black and white with only the odd splash of green appearing mid way through the air being a hanging plant. It's time to broaden our horizons to the colour palette of Scandinavian style by taking inspiration from a more colourful but toned down vibe through the Nordic landscape. This can be achieved through accessories a lot, saving you painting your pristine white walls, however if you're feeling extra brave and ready for a colour change then a paintbrush added to your shopping cart it is.

The colour palette of mustard, sage green, midnight blue and charcoal grey have all been inspired by the Nordic countryside. The Northern Lights, Scandinavian forests and country lanes have all added to the take on new colour for a different look on this well loved style. Being colder countries quite obviously the views are more often duller than bright, however using the right tones from these landscapes can bring just the right amount of colour you want in your space.

Obviously Scandinavian shaped furniture is still a must for this look but this time make the focal point in the room a comfy mustard armchair or a navy blue corner sofa? An easy way to bring the countryside inspiration into Scandinavian style is looking at it's partner in crime- Hygge (originated from Scandinavian). This involves faux fur textures inspired by wild animals as well as dried up  or pressed flower styled floral arrangements that bring an Art Nouveau sense to the interior. Complete with quirky lighting, textured cushions and accessories.

Ps- Leather is a great call for this colour range and brings a masculine edge.
